BitRipple Welcomes Internet Pioneer Vint Cerf to Its Executive Advisory Board

BERKELEY – September 18th, 2026 – BitRipple, a data acceleration and resiliency software company for AI infrastructure, space communications, and defense, today announced that Vint Cerf, co-designer of the TCP/IP protocols that form the foundation of the internet and widely regarded as one of its founding fathers, has joined the company's Executive Advisory Board.
In this role, Cerf will advise BitRipple on technology direction and long-term strategy as the company advances resilient, high-performance data movement across the networks where it matters most: AI infrastructure, space communications, and defense, along with the mobile, edge, and contested environments where connectivity is lossy, congested, or one-way. His guidance comes as BitRipple's patented LT3™ transport technology gains traction from GPU data centers to satellite, optical, and tactical links.
"Vint helped design the protocols the entire internet runs on," said Scott Brown, CEO of BitRipple. "Having his perspective as we build resilient acceleration layers on top of that foundation is extraordinary for our mission, and a powerful validation of where we are taking LT3. We are honored to have him with us."
Cerf co-designed the TCP/IP protocols and the architecture of the internet with Robert E. Kahn beginning in the 1970s, work that earned the two the ACM A.M. Turing Award, often called the Nobel Prize of computing. He is a recipient of the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom, the National Medal of Technology, the Japan Prize, and the IEEE Medal of Honor, and he is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Foreign Member of the Royal Society. He recently concluded a 21-year tenure as Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google, a role he held from 2005 until his retirement in 2026.
BitRipple's LT3™ traces a direct line to the foundations of networking. Where Cerf and Kahn's TCP/IP gave computers a common language, BitRipple co-founder and CTO Michael Luby invented LT codes, the first practical fountain codes and co-created the IETF-standard RaptorQ erasure code (RFC 6330). LT3™ is the next evolution of Luby's work, and the technology eliminates packet loss and retransmissions, enabling faster, more reliable data delivery across the satellite, optical, tactical, and AI-infrastructure networks where high latency and high loss have traditionally slowed everything down.
About BitRipple:
BitRipple is redefining network performance for the age of AI. The company's software-only LT3™ transport accelerates and protects data movement across three of the most demanding frontiers in computing: AI infrastructure, where it reduces GPU latency and keeps accelerators fed across data-center and distributed-training networks; space communications, where it delivers resilient, high-bandwidth links over satellite and optical paths; and Defense, where it holds connections together across contested, degraded, and one-way tactical networks. Built on the fountain-coding technology co-created by co-founder and CTO Michael Luby, LT3 ensures data moves faster, more reliably, and without compromise.
